Hannah’s Holiday Home was set up in memory of a wonderful and fun loving daughter, sister and friend. At the age of 8 Hannah was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Sadly on September 19th 2004 after a year and a half of high dose chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a stem cell transplant she passed away peacefully at home, aged just 10 years old. Throughout her illness Hannah tirelessly raised money for the Piam Brown Ward where she was treated. During this time she raised over £10,000. To continue Hannah’s good work, and in her memory, family and friends set up Hannah’s Holiday Home Appeal. A holiday home available to families of children undergoing or recovering from Cancer treatments.
The holiday home, based at Oakdene in the New Forest., can sleep 6 with a double room, a twin room and large lounge area with double sofa. It Cost over £250 a week to maintain the holiday home with funds also needed to ensure it continues to be well maintained. Over 50 families have benefited from their stay in Hannah’s Holiday Home.
Pam Marshall, founder of Hannah’s Holiday Home Appeal, said “Rob Paul Studios donation of 50% of their booking fee and 10% of all sales to us, this a really generous offer and will go a long way to helping families that have children experiencing cancer. Our family have used this studio and feel confident that people using the studio will both have a great time get great portraits and will help our charity in the process, its smiles all round, Hannah’s smiles! This deal comes at a special time in our family, the 19th September is the 5th anniversary of Hannah’s passing away. Hannah’s Smiles will serve as a great legacy, her smile is something I will never forget”
Jessica Miller (age 14) from Havant was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma and underwent extensive treatment. She and her family used the facilities Hannah’s Holiday Home Appeal helped provide.
Tracey Miller, Jessica’s Mother said “My family and I were given the wonderful opportunity of spending a long weekend at Hannah's holiday home. This quality time enabled my family to spend some well deserved quality time together which was very much needed. The home was immaculate and very spacious and there was the added bonus of tickets into some lovely places. We have also been extremely lucky to have had some fantastic photo shoots at Rob Paul Studios who went out of their way to accommodate my family.. They also made my daughter feel at ease and took some amazing photographs.”
